Millie is a Berkeley and San Jose women's health clinic that grew out of maternity care and now runs a perimenopause and menopause service open to anyone, not only its pregnancy patients. Erin is a family nurse practitioner with more than ten years in primary care and women's health, and she is one of a handful of clinicians at the Berkeley office you can pick by name when you book a menopause evaluation. She also sees women through Midi Health for menopause and midlife care, and she has done extra training in women's integrative medicine. Most menopause visits can be done by video, and you come into the Berkeley office when lab work, imaging or an exam is needed. The clinic was started by a patient who landed in the ER with postpartum preeclampsia and the midwife she called afterwards to ask what had gone wrong.
Dr. Cohen is an OB-GYN with Sutter East Bay Medical Group, seeing patients at the Adeline Care Center in Berkeley and at a second office in Richmond. Her own philosophy of care names symptoms of menopause along with abnormal bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis and pregnancy care, so menopause sits inside a full obstetrics and gynecology practice rather than a dedicated menopause clinic. She directs the OB-GYN residency program at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and is board certified in obesity medicine as well as obstetrics and gynecology, which is worth knowing if weight is part of what you want help with. Unusually for this health system, her own page publishes the list of plans she takes. Video visits are offered to existing patients only, so a first appointment has to be in person.
